Christmas biscuit houses
Decorating a gingerbread house is not only fun for kids, they also look great as Christmas gifts.
Growing up as a kid in Australia I remember an American school friend of mine bringing in gingerbread houses for all the students in the class. Her mum would make 20-30 houses along with an icing bag and different chocolates and lollies for decorations. It was amazing the lengths she went to for us to enjoy a little part of Christmas.
Whilst I haven’t been brave enough to attempt my own gingerbread I did make mini houses for kids to decorate out of Arnots’ Nice biscuits. So simple with a packet of Arnots Nice biscuits, icing sugar, a small amount of water to make an icing paste and chocolates for decorating. I did purchase some Dr. Oetker icing pouches to make the house building easy for kids.
Use two biscuits for the base and two biscuits for the roof.
While the kids enjoyed eating as much as decorating, these mini houses are a cute and quick version of a Christmas gingerbread house.
