green protein smoothie
I will be honest and admit that I am a pretty fussy eater. Ever since I developed an intolerance to certain foods I have struggled to find a breakfast food that fills me up, high in protein, gluten free and that doesn’t involve eggs.
I used to eat toast or cereal and I do love traditional CADA (coconut, apple, dates and almonds) pulsed in the Thermomix and served with yogurt or my breakfast piña colada, which is essentially CADA with pineapple instead of dates. However like most breakfast items high in sugar ,I was hungry again a few hours later and started snacking throughout the day.
I do love a good breakfast smoothie and a green smoothie is even better! I found that by adding protein powder with very small amount of sugar, spinach and baby kale I don’t feel the urge to snack during the morning.
ingredients
- 1 cup of milk of your choice (I use a mixture of almond and coconut milk)
- handful of chopped spinach and baby kale
- 1/2 banana

- 1/2 tsp magnesium powder (optional)
- 1 tsp psyllium husks (optional)
- 1/4 tsp matcha green tea powder (optional)
