Cheeseburger pizza is a pizza with a burger sauce topped with beef, cheese, onions and pickles… It doesn’t get much better than that! Its a simple and easy meal to make in under 30 minutes. If you are a fan of making burgers at home you probably have all the required ingredients already and only need to make or purchase pizza bases.
Pizza is a really easy go to option for our family as I can have a gluten free base while everyone else has a regular one and all the other ingredients remain the same. Below makes enough for two pizza’s but can be double if you need to feed a crowd.
ingredients
1/4 cup mayonnaise (Kewpie brand)
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1 Tablespoon American mustard
300g beef mince
salt and pepper
2x pizza bases
2 cups grated pizza cheese
1/2 onion sliced (red or white)
2 large pickles sliced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
directions
1. Pre-heat the oven to 220ºC.
2. Form the mince into 3cm small balls and place on a lined flat tray or cutting board, season with salt and pepper. Cover with baking paper and use a rolling pin to flatten out the balls.
3. Cook mince in batches until browned.
4. Make the burger sauce by mixing mayonnaise, tomato sauce and American mustard. Spread the mixture over the pizza bases leaving a few spoons for topping.
5. Evenly sprinkle a handful of cheese on each pizza. Add the cooked beef, sliced onion and another layer of cheese. Drizzle on remaining burger sauce and bake in the oven until the cheese is golden brown (approximately 15 minutes).
6. Once removed from oven add pickles and sesame seeds. Slice, serve and enjoy!
